The Association for Support of Marginalized Groups “Roma Resource Center” – Skopje, for the needs of the project “Social Entrepreneurship for Young Roma Women (ROMANCE)”, announces:

 

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS NO.03/2025

For expressions of interest in participating in a program to strengthen the capacities of young Roma women for Social Entrepreneurship.

 

Background of the project

The project is designed to encourage the empowerment and integration of young Roma women in the labor market by promoting social entrepreneurship as well as to strengthen the capacities of unemployed young Roma women in order to change their lives.

 

The main objective of the project is to contribute to the encouragement and increase of social entrepreneurship (self-employment and job creation) among young Roma women in local communities.

Among other things, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of Roma and youth citizen associations to initiate models of social entrepreneurship for young Roma women. On the other hand, the project will contribute to strengthening and increasing cooperation between NGOs, local and regional public institutions, as well as existing social enterprises that will serve as models for the integration of young women. Roma women in the labor market through social entrepreneurship.

The project implementation started on 01.04.2024 and will be implemented until 31.03.2027.

 

The project is implemented by a consortium led by the Roma Resource Center from Skopje in partnership with the Women’s Initiative from Shuto Orizari, Simplexis from Greece and DIESIS Network from Brussels.

The project is financially supported by the European Union within the framework of the EU Support to the Civil Society and Media in the Republic of North Macedonia, IPA 3, program for 2022-2023.

Description of the program for strengthening the capacities of young Roma women for Social Entrepreneurship Young Roma women will have the opportunity to participate in a comprehensive program to strengthen their capacities for their inclusion in social entrepreneurship as well as running their own social enterprise with the aim of their economic empowerment.

Young Roma women who apply to this call will have the opportunity to undergo a 25-hour program (5 days) to strengthen their capacities for the concept of Social Entrepreneurship as a model for strengthening the economic situation of vulnerable categories of citizens, especially Roma women.

The training program will be aimed at strengthening the capacities of at least 120 young Roma women in 10 locations in the country.

The concept of the training program is based on learning by doing by enabling full involvement of the participants through interactive and interesting exercises and games in order for the participants to learn and understand the concept of Social Entrepreneurship through interactive sessions and exercises. After completing the training, the participants will have the knowledge, skills and capacities to:

  • to understand the concept and advantages of Social Entrepreneurship;
  • to get involved in existing Social Enterprises and become economically stronger;
  • as well as to initiate the establishment and manage their own Social Enterprise.

The program for strengthening the capacities of young Roma women for Social Entrepreneurship will be implemented in the following locations:

  1. Municipality of Shuto Orizari (20 women);
  2. Gjorche Petrov (10 women);
  3. Gazi Baba (10 women);
  4. Chair (10 women);
  5. Prilep (15 women);
  6. Bitola (10 women);
  7. Kochani (10 women); 8. Shtip (10 women);
  8. Tetovo (10 women);
  9. Kumanovo (10 women).

The trainings will be organized in cooperation with local partners of the Roma Resource Center and the Women’s Rights Initiative from Shuto Orizari in all targeted municipalities. Lunch, refreshments and training materials will be provided for participants.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive the materials for the entire training in paper form as well as have access to the e-platform in which all training materials will be attached and they will be able to use them online and download them in electronic form.

 

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive certificates for successfully attending

 

Social Entrepreneurship Training.

Interested candidates should meet the following requirements:

  1. Be highly motivated for their economic empowerment through Social Entrepreneurship;
  2. Have a high level of interest in non-formal education and participation in trainings;
  3. Attend all five days of the training and actively participate in the activities;
  4. Be open to teamwork and making new friends.

Location for the implementation of the training program for civil society associations

The trainings will be implemented at the local level in the following municipalities: Šuto Orizari, Gjorče

Petrov, Gazi Baba, Cair, Prilep, Bitola, Kočani, Štip, Tetovo and Kumanovo.

The location and dates will be confirmed later.

Timeframe for the implementation of the training program

The time frame for the implementation of the training program is planned for the period from

01.12.2025 to 15.03.2026.

 

A detailed plan for the implementation of the trainings by municipality will be determined additionally, and the participants by municipality will be informed in a timely and appropriate manner.
