As part of the RomInDis Erasmus + project, the RRC team on 13.02.2025, has realized the Focus Group with RHM, Roma Educators, and volunteers in a hybrid format, for the Validation of the Outlines of the 2 Capacity Building Programmes and the collection of necessary data, knowledge, gaps, and best practices, so that they can be incorporated into these programmes. The Mediators have a constructive discussion and dialogue on improving healthcare access for Roma People with Physical Disabilities (PWPD). We have a productive discussion with Roma Mediators to better understand the real barriers faced by Roma People with Physical Disabilities in accessing healthcare services.
Key topics included:
Administrative and documentation challenges
Limited institutional integration of RHMs
Need for clearer cooperation with healthcare providers
Insufficient material and structural support
RHMs remain a vital bridge between Roma communities and public institutions, yet stronger systemic recognition and sustainable support mechanisms are needed to maximize their impact.
